According to new IDC research, SMBs list mobile worker support, BYOD enablement, video collaboration, and productivity gains as top priorities—yet security remains the most urgent focus. Nearly half of SMBs plan to upgrade endpoint protection, mobile device security, and wireless networking in the next year, while many are already adopting anti-malware tools, firewalls, and mobile security solutions.

With limited budgets and small IT teams, SMBs must be strategic. IDC’s findings show that while most spending goes toward hardware and software, SaaS-based security is emerging as a smarter, more scalable option for modern distributed workforces.
