Georgia Public Library Service (GPLS) supports 407 public libraries situated across the state by providing consulting services, resource sharing, and technology solutions.
With a greater demand for technology access from their patrons, they deployed ChromeOS devices as loaner devices, internet stations, and platforms. This enabled patrons to access online resources and stay informed about library events.
Each of these 5,000 devices is managed via the Google Admin console which reduces the need for IT support, making it especially beneficial for smaller libraries with limited tech resources.
Key benefits of ChromeOS devices include:
- Simplified device management
- Reduced IT support tasks and operational costs
- Increased focus on serving patrons with saved time
